Join us for a life-changing summer camp unlike any other! Where the youth plan the program, and you set up your own camp from scratch!
Troop and Crew 254’s summer camp is located in the beautiful San Juan National Forest, located outside of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Located at roughly 8300 feet in elevation, the camp is completely off-grid and 30 minutes from the nearest cell phone signal.
Each year, the camp is planned completely by the youth and no year is the same as the last. Potential activities include:
The cost is:
These prices are all-inclusive for the entire week-long adventure which includes all food and transportation. If gas prices rise above roughly $3.75/gal for gasoline and $4.00/gal for diesel, then an additional gas surcharge may be added. A 10% discount is applied to the Scouts BSA Youth and Scouts BSA Adults if paid in full by May 1, 2023.
If an adult is camping but not already registered with the Boy Scouts of America, then they will need to complete an application and pay an additional fee for membership and a background check. This prorated fee is approximately $30.
If registration is paid for by credit or debit card instead of Scout Account, an additional 3% fee will be invoiced to the family after the fact. We highly encourage the use of Scout Account funds. If your Scout Account is empty, you will receive a Quickbooks invoice in which to pay the balance.
All Payments are non-refundable.
The tradition of building our own summer camp began over 20 years ago, when our Scouts decided that they wanted to experiment with a new summer camp experience. The Scouts decided that they wanted to try to build and run their own camp, an idea that has been tradition ever since. The Scouts love being able to tailor the program to their wants every year, and it offers a leadership experience for them that no other summer camp can provide a troop.
Summer Camp may seem expensive, but the cost is all-inclusive. To help offset the cost, we offer several fundraising opportunities during the year. With these, a Scout is usually able to raise enough to cover not only the cost of summer camp, but also the cost of most troop campouts.
Over the years, we have built up a cache of procedures and equipment to run our summer camps as well as possible. These include UV water filtration systems, generator banks, canopies, custom Patrol handbooks, and highly optimized travel procedures.
