Join us for a weekend of learning what Scouts BSA is all about, while working on Webelos and Arrow of Light adventures. Over the weekend, Webelos Scouts will form patrols and be in a troop under the guidance of a Scoutmaster. In their patrol, they will be led by Patrol Leaders who are current Scouts in Scouts BSA. In their patrols, Webelos Scouts will get a little taste of the independence and self-reliance they learn in Scouts BSA.
Over the course of the weekend, Scouts will participate in flag ceremonies, learn to tie knots, set up their own campsites and kitchens, learn how to perform a flag ceremony, learn about amateur radio, launch model rockets, and learn about drones! Most of the activities over the weekend can be used towards various Webelos and Arrow of Light Adventures.
Meanwhile, parents and Den Leaders will have the opportunity to meet our staff, and participate in several fireside chats. These chats will cover topics such as “The Differences Between Cub Scouting and Scouts BSA” and “How to Choose a Scouts BSA Troop”.
At A Story Worth Retelling, you’ll also learn the 110+ year history of Scouting, both in the United States and worldwide. You’ll learn about some of our founders, such as Lord Robert Baden-Powell and Ernest Thompson Seton. You’ll hear how Scouting has evolved over the decades in the United States, and the legacy that Scouting offers to our youth.
While food and most equipment will be provided, Scouts will need to pack their own personal gear. We will also need a Part A and B medical form for all attendees. Siblings are welcome to join in on the fun! Please have these forms printed and ready to turn in on Saturday morning.
