  • Every Scout needs to sell $1067 in popcorn products using a combination of storefront, wagon, or online sales. This amount is calculated using the Trail’s End sales price. This is the gross sales total BEFORE the unit/Scout is allocated a percentage of the profits.
  • The Troop splits donations given to the troop between the Scout (50%) and Unit (50%).
    • Any donation the customer indicates is a Heros and Helpers donation must be processed through the Trails End app and follows the sales commission allocations listed below.
  • The Unit earns a percentage of the sales according to a commission rate that has been set by Council. The Troop splits the total commission earned between the Scout (60%) and the Unit (40%)
    • The profits and percentage of donations received from all booths scheduled on a given day are totaled, and then allocated to Scout accounts for Scouts and adults who worked during that day, based upon the amount of time units worked during the booth.  Scout account funds earned during this fundraising event are not available for use until the official allocation into accounts occurs after the end of the fundraising event.
  • At the end of the fundraising period, the Troop determines if the Scout met the equivalent of the Unit opt-out fee. This is amount is calculated by reviewing the Scout’s sales and adding together the Scout’s commission earned for the unit (40% of the total commission earned) and the Scout’s unit percentage of Troop donations (50%).
    • If a Scout did not sell enough to meet the equivalent of the unit opt-out fee amount, the Scout will receive an invoice from the Troop treasurer for the difference between what was earned and the unit opt-out fee. This difference is paid from the Scout account. If deficiencies remain, the treasurer sends an invoice to bill for the remaining balance.
  • Any Scout who may request a need-based scholarship for a Scouting event is required to opt-in and participate in this fundraiser. The Committee will not consider scholarship requests if you do not actively participate in the fundraiser.

Scouts opting-out of participation

  • Any scout choosing to not participate in this fundraiser will not earn Scout account credit which can be used to pay for Scout events.
  • The cost to opt-out is a $160 Unit Fee.
NOTE: Each opt-in or opt-out is per Scout, not per family.
